What I'm doing now?
I spend most of my time working full-time at the ICTS library
Apart from that,
1) I am trying to understand research evaluation practices (the outcomes and impact of research that reecive public funding).
We may not expect Return on Investment in academic research (varies across fields) but certainly we can expect atleast the Value of Investment.
So far, I focused on basic quantitative measurements through metrics (like scientometrics, altmetrics), but what I begin to understand, in recent times "gaming the metrics" is damaging the
whole system of scholarly publishing. I am now also exploring qualitative dimensions for research evaluation, to gain a more holistic view.
2) Research ethics has become an area of particular interest in my learning journey. Currently, I am studying citing patterns and behaviors in retracted publications, with a focus on Indian-funded research.
